# Simple Slackbot
BasicsSlack
A basic Slack bot that responds to @mentions with commands. It reacts to "@mention hello" by greeting the user, and "@mention info" by fetching and displaying the user's Slack profile information.

# Simple Slackbot

This scenario illustrates building a very simple slackbot.

 It responds to being mentioned with a command, like this `@slackbot hello` or `@slackbot info`.

 Right now the slack-specific blocks aren't attached to an app installation, which is why they're marked as orphaned.

 In order to use it, you will have to first install the Slack app. You can do this by clicking on **Apps** in the left sidebar, then **Install app** at the bottom, and choosing the Slack app. Go through the creation form, navigate to the config tab and follow the installation instructions there.

 Once you're back here, you can select all blocks with `cmd+a` and click "Connect 4 orphaned blocks to an installations" in the right sidebar. Pick the Slack app installation, and your blocks will be attached to it.

 All that's left at this point, is trying out the slackbot in your Slack workspace!
